Research Institute
The Research Institute is a secret but egnmatic research body based in London, 2100. They are confirmed to be carrying out research into "stubs", timelines that have diverged as a result of interference from the future. Their work is the prime focus of Milagros Coldiron, who are seeking to understand and assertain the extent of their findings.
The Research Institute are lead by Dr. Cherise.
Description
The Research Institute are a large and powerful research company carrying out research into stubs. These are timelines that have diverged into parallel universes due to interference in which the future and past meet — primarily, due to the use of Peripherals to connect Flynne Fisher's timeline and the timeline of the fututre.
Whils originally their intentions were kept a secret, it was eventually revealed that the Research Institute are researching an event known as "The Jackpot", which occured sometime during 2032 and the future timeline in which Flynne visits in her Peripheral. Whilst the details of the Jackpot are unclear, it is assumed that the event was some kind of apocolypse, and Dr. Cherise confirms that the Research Institute is working to prevent such occurence again.
